GTRC General Overview

Currently, GTRC only has one organized event, the Racquetball Challenge Night, which occurs every Tuesday evening at the Campus Recreation Center from 9 PM to 11 PM. After 11 PM, courts are free until Midnight, so the Challenge Night may last up to 3 hours.

Every Challenge Night, the GTRC will reserve two racquetball courts for two hours. Anyone that shows up may play, though they may have to wait. Up to eight players can be playing at a time (two games of doubles). If there are fewer than eight players, any combination may be played (singles or cut-throat). If a team or player wins a game, they will stay on the court and play the next team or player in the rotation. However, no team or player may play more than two games in a row if anyone is waiting.

GTRC is currently developing a ranking system for the racquetball players at Georgia Tech and in the club. This will give all participants a meter to guage their skill and improvements. It will also serve as a determinant for competition play in the future.

In the (hopefully not so distant) future, GTRC would be interested in hosting tournaments at the CRC. This will require a great deal of commitment and aid from all of the members of the club. If anyone has any ideas or is interested in pursuing the organization for a tournament for thoroughly, please let us know.
